Displacement, Identity, and Belonging: Triptych of Imagined Objects

This triptych brings together three imagined objects shaped by personal memory and collective experience. The casts of my father’s feet trace movement, migration, and the enduring imprint of displacement. The tied bundle speaks to what is carried and what is left behind—belongings, memories, and the emotional weight of migration. The hand grasping a pair of pliers cutting through barbed wire reimagines a monument to freedom of movement, resistance to border violence, and the struggle against systems of enclosure. Together, these works form a material vocabulary of migration, evoking absence, necessity, resilience, and resistance.
